Galvanized pipes are a type of pipe metal, which is a steel pipe coated with a layer of zinc on top. The following range of galvanized pipes is presented on the rolled metal market - these are profile (square and rectangular section), electric-welded pipes according to DSTU 8943 (EN 10217 alt) and water and gas pipes (WGP) according to DSTU 8936 (EN 10224 alt).

The manufacturing process of such pipes is quite simple. Ordinary water or gas pipes are immersed in a bath of molten zinc mixture. Galvanization minimizes the processes of metal oxidation (metal does not undergo rusting processes), which increases the service life of structures. So a steel pipe will last 7-10 years, and a galvanized pipe - up to 30 years.
Galvanized pipes are widely used in such areas as:
- capital construction (especially housing and communal services).
- in the industry - the manufacture of fittings
- plumbing work.
- implementation of projects for laying internal water supply lines, hot and cold water supply.
- heating and gas supply.
- production of furniture and furniture fittings.
- production of structures for outdoor use - billboards, advertising structures, entertainment and sports grounds, bus stops, small architectural forms.
Water and gas galvanized pipes are produced according to the DSTU 8936 (EN 10224 alt) standard. They are manufactured with a length of 4-12 m. The outer diameter is from 10 to 165 mm (in 5 mm increments). Galvanized pipe DN is made with a cylindrical thread and without a thread. An additional characteristic is strength - the ability to withstand internal pressure. Light and ordinary - do not collapse under excess pressure up to 24 kgs, and reinforced ones withstand an impact of 31 kgs. The most used in practice are galvanized pipes with diameters of 50, 100 and 150 mm. In this case, the wall thickness is 2-5 mm. Pipes that will be mounted by welding must have a wall thickness of at least 5 mm.
