Comfort and safety of people are due to the correct use of GOSTs and TUs. This requirement concerns different areas, and especially those where pipe products are used. Pipes are standardized strictly according to the regulations in accordance with the conditions, chemical storage and density.
Summary of rules for the use of steel pipes
To make a good and durable pipe system, it is worth familiarizing yourself in detail with the technical characteristics of pipe products, referring to the established GOSTs. Well-known standards are divided into domestic and international, which apply to certain types of pipe products. Given that a huge number of pipes appear on the market, you need to be able to understand their quality, and for this it is enough to know what GOST products are equated to. The two most important regulatory documents were recorded in 2003 and 2006.
Depending on the manufacturing method, they distinguish:
- 30732-2006 – normative list that applies to steel shaped pipes with thermal insulation (used for laying underground and above ground);
- 2591-2006 – a source characterizing the steel assortment of hot-rolled products, the provisions of which also apply to square products;
- 9567-75 – provisions adopted for the production of hot-rolled and cold-formed pipes;
- 52079-2003 – norms adopted for spiral-seam and straight-seam pipe products;
- 12336-66 – a document that applies to rolled pipe with square or rectangular sections;
- 10705 – conditions created for longitudinal electric-welded pipe products;
- 10704 – GOST is intended for electric-welded pipes with a straight seam and used for general purposes;
- 10707-80 – positions adopted for pipes with varying degrees of accuracy.
The main characteristics of steel pipe products are nominal and nominal diameter, wall thickness and inner diameter. They are also distinguished by areas of application:
- electrowelded steel pipes;
- water and gas pipelines;
- seamless pipes;
- trunk.
Among the main sizes, the following parameters are highlighted:
- thread diameter in inches;
- conditional pass unit;
- Outside diameter of a welded or seamless pipe.
It is necessary to take into account not only the standard size of the tubular product, but also the brand: St1, St2…St5, and so on, with guaranteed indicators: A (mechanical characteristics), C (composition ratio with chemical changes), B (chemical composition).< /p>
