UPN and UPE M. bars, what is the difference

A M. bar is a shaped metal product that has the shape of the letter "p" in cross section.

Types of M. bars

In domestic and foreign regulatory documents, M. bars are divided into two main groups:

  • with parallel faces of shelves, UPE, (P);
  • with the slope of the inner faces of the shelves, UPN, (U).

The height is in the range of 800-400 mm, the width of the shelves is in the range of 32 to 115 mm. M. bars with parallel edges of the shelves have thin walls, due to which the weight of the product is significantly reduced, while its strength can be compared to a I-beam. It is used in the field of construction and mechanical engineering.

Regulatory documentation:

  • DIN 1026-2: 2002-10 A 45-202: 1986
  • EN 10279: 2000
  • EN 10163-3: 2004, Class C, Subclass 1
  • STN 42 5550
  • Č TN 42 5550
  • TDP: STN 42 01.

This type of M. bars has increased strength and rigidity with respect to the horizontal axis, it is used for loads that have a transverse bend. They are used in the production of support structures, frames, bridge cranes, special equipment bodies.

Regulatory documentation:

  • DIN 1026-1: 2000, NF
  • EN 10279: 2000
  • EN 10163-3: 2004, Class C, Subclass 1
  • STN 42 5550
  • Č TN 42 5550
  • TDP: STN 42 0135.

This is a very popular metal product in construction, it gives structures stability and strengthens them, increases resistance to high loads. The special shape allows you to evenly distribute the weight of the structure. They are also often used as a component of crane beams, eaves, used during the installation of floor coverings, bridge vaults.

They are often used in the construction of large-sized residential and non-residential premises, for the repair of industrial facilities, they are also used for placing high-voltage cables and water supply. Ramps for wheelchairs are made from them, and wooden wall structures are strengthened with their help.

Production features and regulatory documentation

The M. bar is a very common product on the domestic market of rolled metal, which is used in demand for M. bars of both domestic and imported production. It is produced from carbon steel by the hot-rolled method on special rolling mills. The workpiece is a rectangular beam made of steels S235JR, S235J0, S235J2, S275JR, S275J0, S355JR, S355J0, S355J2, S355K2, S450J0.

European regulatory documentation clearly regulates the range of M. bars, and many of the parameters differ from domestic guests and DSTU. The mechanical characteristics of each type are influenced by the composition of the metal alloy and the shape of the M. bar itself. It is they who determine the maximum load, permissible weight on the structure. and the weight of one linear meter of the product. All regulatory acts regulate quality control, which practically excludes the lack and inaccuracy of tolerances.

European standards that regulate the production of M. bars:

  • DIN 1026-1:2000;
  • EN 10279:2000;
  • EN 10163-3:2004;
  • STN 42 5550;
  • ČTN 42 5550;
  • TDP: STN 42 0135.

Why you should give preference to the European M. bar

  1. Products are made of European steels that have improved mechanical properties and a wider scope of application.
  2. The high accuracy of the parameters allows them to be used in projects of any complexity.
  3. Resistance to corrosion and negative environmental factors, this significantly increases the service life.
  4. More environmentally friendly hot deformation provides a lower cost compared to other production methods.

You can buy M. bar in bulk and at retail on self-delivery terms at the metal depots of the "YUTMK" company in Kyiv, Dnipro, Poltava, Boryspil and Chernivtsi. Shipments of goods weighing over one ton are delivered to other cities of Ukraine. You can also order delivery to any city in Ukraine and throughout Europe, including Moldova, Romania, and Germany. Customers from Poland can make purchases at warehouses in the cities of Warsaw, Lodz, Krakow, and Poznań. Delivery to any Polish settlement is also carried out. Including Plotsk, Kalisz, Opole.
