Purpose and Characteristics Support edges (heel shrouds, bottom protectors) take the main load when the bucket rubs against the ground. The bolt-on design allows for rapid replacement of worn parts in the field without welding. Using high-hardness Hardox 450, 500, and 550 grades prevents premature wear of the lower bucket section and extends equipment life when handling abrasives.
