Steel Channel 16U (type UPN) is a U-shaped hot rolled structural channel, 160 mm high and 64 mm wide. The type is equal-shelf, with sloped inner edges. The product length is 12.05 m. A running meter weighs 14.2 kg, and a ton meter is 70.42 m of product. It is manufactured according to DSTU 3436 ( ≈ EN 10025-2 cert. 3.1 + CE) from St3ps5 (S235 / S275JR +AR) structural carbon steel by hot-rolling and repeatedly crimping a billet with rollers.

In construction, this channel forms the basis of building support frames and trusses for bridges, overpasses, and other structures. In machine building, it is used to manufacture truck frames and railway rolling stock: locomotives, wagons, platforms, and tank cars.
