Steel circle is one of the most popular types of round metal products. It has the shape of a steel bar and wire wound on coils.
Outwardly, it is very similar to wire rod and A1 smooth rebar, but there are significant differences between them that should be taken into account when choosing a material.
Main differences
Despite the external similarity with other types of rolled metal, the steel circle has characteristics that are superior to those of smooth reinforcement and wire rod. So, it is more even and durable, has better flexibility (with a slight bend, it is able to restore its original shape).
The section of the circle is also an order of magnitude more accurate. At the same time, its diameter can reach 40 cm - for other products this figure is much smaller.
All this is reflected in the price - the cost of a circle is higher than for similar rolled metal of other varieties.
For a better understanding of the differences, it is worth taking a closer look at all three types of rolled metal products.
Hot-rolled circle
Parameters are regulated by GOST 2590-2006.
According to the approved standards, this type of rolled metal has the 6th accuracy class. At the same time, bars up to 6 meters long can be made from almost any type of steel permitted by GOST, and products exceeding this parameter can only be made from high-alloy steel.
Depending on the material used and the purpose of the material, it can be subjected to additional heat treatment - to improve its qualities, in particular, to increase its strength.
The diameter of a hot-rolled wheel can vary from 5 to 250 mm. With a diameter of 5 to 14 mm, it is sold in coils, and with indicators of 10-250 - in bars.
Used in construction for reinforcing reinforced concrete structures and manufacturing metal structures.
In addition, bushings, bolts, washers and other parts are machined from it, metal frames, fences, gratings and other structures are made.
Rolled rod for general purpose
Produced in accordance with GOST 30136-95 and various specifications. For the manufacture of used steel grades St0-3. At the request of the customer, wire rod can be subjected to additional heat treatment. In this case, a different method of cooling the finished product can be used.
The diameter of rolled metal is from 5 to 11 mm. accuracy class - B2 (according to GOST 2690).
Wire rod is used in the production of electrodes, wire elements for welding, telegraph wires and various ropes. It has also found wide application in reinforcing concrete products in construction.
A1 rebar
Complies with GOST 5781-82. St3 steel is used in production (quiet, semi-quiet and boiling). Accuracy, according to GOST 2590, corresponds to the B1 marking.
Heat treatment technology is not used in the production of smooth reinforcement.
Available in diameters from 6mm to 40mm.
Used in construction when creating reinforced concrete products, all kinds of structures and metal parts.
