It is produced by forming preheated slabs from St38KhS, a structural steel alloyed with chromium and silicon, on rolling mills. It is used as a billet for improved spring-type parts that require high strength and wear resistance: gears, rollers, pins, couplings, and intake valves for tractor engines.
