Tramway rail T62 (Ri60)

Tram rail T62 is a structural steel product used for tram rails.

It is manufactured from steel ingots through a process of heating and rolling on longitudinal mills, using high-strength carbon alloy steel grades M75 and M76 (≈ R350HT). The product conforms to TU 14-2Р-320-96 / DSTU 2519-94 / GOST 6726-53 (≈ EN 14811, Ri60).

The rail's dimensions are as follows: height – 180 mm, sole width – 150 mm, neck thickness – 12 mm, and standard length – 12.5 m. One running meter weighs 62.1 kg, meaning one ton of rolled steel equals approximately 16.1 m.

Unlike railway rails, the T-62 features a special groove designed to guide the tram wheel, enabling the tram to navigate tight curves. This tram rail is essential for constructing tracks in areas where the rail line is level with the asphalt, concrete base, or paving stones. It is particularly well-suited for laying tram tracks on curved sections.
